Meet Chef Jennifer - Urban Gourmet

I have always been obsessive about reading cookbooks, cooking, and entertaining. I was given my first cookbook when I was 6 years old. I made every recipe in that little book. I read it over and over until the pages were coming apart. It may be strange to some people, but I read cookbooks like most people read novels. I have never joined a book club because cookbooks were never on the reading list! There are cookbooks in every room of my house and filling bookshelves. If you see me sitting in a waiting room, waiting for an appointment, I will be reading one of the cookbooks that I keep in my car for this purpose.

My favorite memories all revolve around aromas of home cooked meals. Call it whatever you want… an obsession, a passion, insanity. But I love food and I love to feed people. I want to create an experience and a memory by serving an outstanding meal.

The food industry has always been an interest of mine. I worked in a restaurant for four years while attending college. I enjoyed it, however I realized that this was not the career avenue for me. I knew that I had found the perfect career when I discovered the personal chef industry.  It has allowed me to be in business for myself and use the information that I had been collecting in my head all of these years. I could explore my passion as a career.

I enjoy the personal touch of being a personal chef. Working directly with my clients, creating menus and meals is incredibly rewarding. My wonderful clients allow me to pursue what I love to do.

I am a member of American Private and Personal Chef Association. This gives me access to limitless food related resources. I am certified by the State of Texas in food management and safety. My insurance is through CNA.
